Working with Josca and Marcin was a real treat for me. It's not everyday that you have the opportunity to photograph the formals of the bride and groom one-on-one without the wedding party. I found the session so relaxed and finished it a lot sooner then normal. The wedding party and family formals were completed at the reception in Fort Edmonton Park. It is truly a wonderful place with a lot of photographic opportunities.
The lovely couple were married on June 11. I am not sure if you recall, but the weather that week was just awful. It rained heavily every single day. Once the wedding day came, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky (that rained that is). They said their vows in the St Joachim Church. I have to say, it's one of my personal favourites in the city. I love the ambient lighting, it has a very welcoming and homey feel. The church itself dates back to 1854. The combination of the brick, wooden interior, stained glass windows and an incredible altar makes it truly unique. The ceremony was very emotional. There were lots of tears and just as many laughs. Josca looked amazing as she walked the aisle with her parents by her side.
The reception was at Fort Edmonton Park. The guests arrived from ALL over the world to this special event. Josca's family arrived from Holland & Marcin's from Poland. They were truly surrounded by the closest of family & friends. The reception was very intimate and full of emotions. I felt so welcomed by everyone. The newsly weds came by on August 4th, to view and pick up their fully re-touched wedding images. Here are some of my favorites and their video testimonial!
Josca requested to keep the ceremony and reception images on the low, as she really wanted to keep it private. To honor her wises, I only included a couple of images :)
Thank you, Josca & Marcin, for commissioning me to take photographs on your wedding day.

I absolutely LOVE shooting in this church.

Guys heading to the church.

Marcin and his mom. She asked that I only take nice pictures of her that day :)

Amazing interior.

Hugs and Kisses from guests and Family.

Beautif exterior of the Joachim Church.

We shot a combination of environmental and urban images.

These two are SOOOO in love.

I was really happy the City of Edmonton DID NOT cut the grass that week.

The beautiful bride, Josca :)

She has a really funny laugh :)

The handsome groom, Marcin.

Awww :)

This is one of my favorite places to shoot...the parkade in downtown Edmonton.

More bridal portraits of Josca.

I guess the rain brought some photographic opportunities. I love the reflection shot.

These two know how to dance!

Fort Edmonton Park. I really love this place for all the amazing photographic opportunities.

I saw these old advertisements and knew that was a great place for a group shot.

I could still smell that 'barn smell' ... but it was worth it!

The gorgeous girls. Loved the blue dresses.

Candid images are the best. Right place at the right time.

The wedding party :)

There was a small park in the area. Realy gorgeous. Everything was in full bloom.

Some reception details.

The cake cutting.

... and of course, the first dance.
